Cronyism Puts Tahoe at Severe Risk

Mission creep, coupled with a lack of rigorous oversight or routine external scrutiny, has bred cronyism and regulatory capture. Law experts sum up the latter this way: “Capture arises when private interests exert an outsized influence over the very agencies that are supposed to keep them in check.”
